Route C is based in Andover, to the central part of the town. It is a great route for running in autumn/winter as it is fully lit and all paved.

We use Strava, a popular free app that is designed to show you the running route and, if you wish, track your progress.

The Strava route is shown below and you can join the Strava Club using the button provided:

The route has the following features:

  • Start and end at the Salto Centre Car Park in Charlton, Andover

  • Meet by 6:55pm to begin the run promptly at 7pm

  • Route is along pavements and footpaths around the central part of Andover, fully paved along the route.

  • Route is fully lit, so ideal for autumn/winter running (high-vis and/or head/body torch might be worth considering)

  • 5.3 km route with only 47 m elevation change

The route has places where you will need to cross normally quiet side roads and cul-de-sacs.

Some crossings are across busier through-roads and these are the ones listed below to highlight the need for caution.

It will be the individual runner's responsibility to take the appropriate care in making these crossings.

These are:

  • Across Mylen Road / Millway Road to be able to head East along Weyhill Road

  • Across The Avenue along Weyhill Road

  • Across the A3057 at the bottom of Weyhill Road to continue onto Bridge Street (traffic light pedestrian crossing)

  • Across Chantry Street at its top end to continue past the Sports Centre

  • Across the A3057 Western Avenue at the Folly Roundabout (traffic light pedestrian crossing)

  • Across Charlton Road at Travis Perkins by the Folly Roundabout (traffic light pedestrian crossing), to stay on the quieter side of Charlton Road

  • Across Charlton Road on the approach back to the Salto Centre Car Park

Membership:

Joining the running group is free and intended for adults only because of the road crossings that are on the route.

You will need to join our Whatsapp group using the button above.

Before each run, members will need to confirm, using Whatsapp, whether they intend to take part or not in that particular event. This gives us information about the group size that would be arriving for the run.

The Whatsapp group will also give members up-to-date information about future runs (dates, time, route, etc) along with any dates that a run might not proceed for some reason.
