Winter Route 1 is based in Andover, to the central part of the town, with parking available at Town Mills car park.

It is a great route for running in autumn/winter as it is fully lit and all paved.

We use Strava, a popular free app that is designed to show you the running route and, if you wish, track your progress.

The Strava route is shown below and you can join the Strava Club using the button provided:

The route has the following features:

  • Start and end at the Town Mills Car Park in Andover (free parking after 4pm)

  • Meet by 6:55pm to begin the run promptly at 7pm

  • Route is along pavements and footpaths around the central part of Andover, fully paved along the route.

  • Route is fully lit, so ideal for autumn/winter running (high-vis and/or head/body torch might be worth considering)

  • 5.5 km route with only 24 m elevation change

The route has places where you will need to cross normally quiet side roads and cul-de-sacs.

Some crossings are across busier through-roads and these are the ones listed below to highlight the need for caution.

It will be the individual runner's responsibility to take the appropriate care in making these crossings.

These are:

  • Across the A3057 Western Avenue at the Folly Roundabout (traffic light pedestrian crossing)

  • Across Charlton Road at Travis Perkins by the Folly Roundabout (traffic light pedestrian crossing), to stay on the quieter side of Charlton Road

  • Across Charlton Road to head along Tollgate Road

  • Across Millway Road to head to the Station Car Park

  • Across the ends of The Avenue & Cross Lane at the Station, to head down Bishop's Way

  • Across the bottom of Weyhill Road near the Station Inn to head towards Asda

  • Across Anton Mill Road by the Asda Roundabout to enter the Asda car park

  • Across Bridge Street to head back towards Town Mills Car Park

Apps We Use

We use Strava, a popular and free app that allows you to view running routes, record your activities, and track your progress over time. Participation is optional, but it’s a great way to stay motivated and see how far you’ve come.

We are also a registered group on the parkrun website. This means you can support Willpower 2 Run by representing the group at your local parkrun every Saturday morning, helping to raise awareness while being part of a friendly and supportive running community.
