Safety and Crossing Points:

This 5.2 km summer evening run begins and ends at a central meeting point and follows a mix of paved roads, quieter residential streets and shared paths alongside green spaces, making it perfect for warm evenings when daylight lasts well into the evening. With very little elevation gain the route is easy in effort and great for keeping legs moving while enjoying summer weather and scenery.

There are a few places where runners may need to cross busier roads or junctions, so remain alert and take your time at these locations. Always slow down as you approach road crossings, check carefully in both directions before stepping onto the road, make eye contact with drivers where possible and only cross when it is clearly safe to do so. Please prioritise safety over pace or group positioning and be ready to adjust your approach when needed.

Runner Considerations:

Some sections involve running on or close to the road so runners should stay in single file and consider wearing brightly coloured clothing to remain visible to traffic. Shared paths and trail‑like segments add variety and a pleasant summer feel underfoot but may include uneven surfaces such as grass and compact trail, so pay attention to your footing. Take extra care around corners and bends especially where visibility may be reduced by vegetation or landscape, and be aware of walkers, dog walkers and other users on the paths, sharing space courteously. Summer conditions generally bring drier and more stable surfaces making both paved and off‑road parts of this route enjoyable to run.

For runners who prefer a slightly shorter option there is a 4.4 km variation on the same route that still includes many of the same paths and sights, giving flexibility for different paces and time constraints.

Route Completion:

This summer‑adapted loop brings you back to the starting point after a scenic mix of streets, shared paths and green spaces. It is ideal for mid‑week evening runs, relaxed group sessions or maintaining training consistency while enjoying longer daylight and pleasant summer temperatures on a varied run that embraces both roads and trail‑like sections.
