Soapbox Derby Raffle

We are excited to announce that Willpower 2 Run Running Club is hoping to enter the Andover Soapbox Derby 2027!

The Andover Soapbox Derby is an annual charity event that raises money for local causes, and in 2027 the event will be supporting Andover Young Carers. As part of our entry, we're also raising funds to build and race our own soapbox while helping this fantastic local charity.

Taking part in the Soapbox Derby is a brilliant opportunity for our members to come together outside of running and work on a fun, shared project. From designing and building the soapbox to race day itself, we hope it will be a great social experience that brings members together, develops new friendships, and hopefully produces a soapbox capable of making it all the way to the finish line!

Whether you're handy with tools, have creative ideas, engineering skills, or simply want to lend a hand and be part of the project, we'd love to hear from you. It's a fantastic opportunity to get to know fellow club members while supporting a worthwhile cause.

To help fund the construction of our soapbox, cover our race entry costs, and raise money for Andover Young Carers, we're holding a Charity Raffle.

We've been overwhelmed by the generosity of local businesses, who have kindly donated some fantastic prizes. Every raffle ticket purchased helps us get one step closer to the start line while making a real difference to young carers in our local community.

Thank you for your support, and good luck in the raffle!

Raffle Information

The funds raised will go towards the cost of building and entering the Andover Soapbox Derby in 2027, which is an annual event that raises money for local charities. Participating in the Soapbox Derby is intended to be a fun way for Running Club members to come together in a non-running activity, helping local charities on the way.

If there are excess funds left over after constructing and entering the Soapbox Derby, these excess funds will be donated in their entirety to the Soapbox Derby to be distributed to their nominated charities.

The draw will take place on Monday 31st August, which is a bank holiday. There will be a Bank Holiday Coffee Run organised on that day, ending at the Route Coffee Hatch at Andover Railway Station and the draw will take place at the end of that run. The draw may be live-streamed so that anyone not attending the run can have the opportunity to watch and see if they have won any raffle prizes. After the draw, all winners will be listed on the web site (showing first name, surname initial and ticket number, which should be sufficient for winners to be able to identify themselves but not give enough information for third party identification). Winners of any prizes not claimed during the draw itself will be contacted using the telephone number given at the time of the ticket sale. In the event that a winner cannot be contacted, any resulting prizes remaining unclaimed after 14 days following the draw will be re-entered into a secondary draw using the remaining raffle tickets, which will be held securely for this eventuality. Any prizes unclaimed after this stage will be returned to the donor.
